A 10th grader, Messiah was attending a science class at the school of art in New York School when he decided to draw on his desk. He was suspended for doing so, and then later in the week was called down to the principles office and got arrested. The principle later decided to drop the charges but still had Messiah go to family court and complete community service. With more police officers in school buildings it is more likely for students t get arrested.

I think it was very unnecessary for Messsiah to get arrested and even suspended. Yes writing on desks is wrong but to get in that much trouble for doing something that little is wrong. I mean I can see him getting in trouble for writing like a hit list or something, but it obviously wasn't anything too serious or more information would be put out about that. There is more school issues that should be attended, rather than getting someone arrested and suspended for writing on a desk.

Obama visiting Indianapolis
President Barak Obama is visting Indianapolis Friday March 6th. He is coming to speak with Allison Transmission officals about reducing the U.S. dependance on foreign oil. He made goals to increase domestic oil exploration and production. This will make vehicles more energy efficient.

I think Barak is doing us a great favor. We need to lower our gas prices and finally he's actually trying to do something about it. I agree that he is doing the right thing by exploring the production of more energy efficient vehicles. This will not just help our economy but our atmosphere as well.

Student in Jail for Gun in School
A 16 year old student at North Central High School was seen with a gun in his bookbag by another student. The student had a Raven .25 caliber in the front of his bag. The gun had five bullets in it, and he had a bullet in his front pocket. The boy said he found the gun in the handicapped stall of the boy’s bathroom wrapped in notebook paper. He said that he was going to take the gun to his home after school that day. The boy was charged with carrying a handgun without a permit, and possession of a handgun on school property. He was then taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

Guns on school grounds have become a big problem lately. This needs to be stopped. Horrible things have happened with kids bringing guns to school. We need to prevent any kind of activity that could turn into students, teachers, or faculty getting hurt on school grounds. I think we need to improve students awareness of bringing weapons to school. We should also improve security of all enterances of schools.

Dogs Saved
Hundreds of dogs were saved last Friday afternoon on their way to Chinese restaurants. A driver swerved his car in front of the truck the dogs were being transported in. Stopping the truck, the driver alerted activists on his microblog to come and help free the dogs. Two hundred people showed up jammin traffic on the highway and making the truck immobile. The animal activist group ended up freeing the dogs by purchasing them for $17,600. Some of the dogs even had collars and name tags, meaning they had been possibly stolen from their owners.

Dogs shouldn't be eaten. In the US dogs are a man's best friend. If someone would eat a dog in the US, that person would be hated. I think that there should be a law conserning the Chinese to not eat dogs. It's just sick to think about. Personally I would've done the same exact thing if I was in China. I think we should have more animal activist groups in the US helping the Chinese with this problem. We could show the Chinese how wrong it is to eat man's best friend.

Sleeping Air Traffic Controllers
The Federal Aviation Administration suspended another air traffic controller because he was sleeping on the job. This has been their seventh person to be sleeping on the job. Most of the sleeping has occured in the midnight shifts. The head of the FAA Air Traffic Organization, Hank Krakowski, resigned because of all the insodents with the air traffic controllers falling asleep this past year. They said they are taking steps to make sure this will stop.

I think that this is a very serious situation. What if a plane ended up crashing into another plane on the runway? That would be over 800 people dead..if not more. We really need to think about how serious this is. Sleeping on a job in an office is totally different than sleeping on the job as an air traffic controller. I think we really need to inforce the no sleeping on the job rule, exspecially being an air traffic controller..for the safty of our families, friends, and ourselves.

Libya
On Saturday, the U.S. president authorized more than 112 Tomahawk cruise missiles to attack Libya. The missiles were sent to hopefully prevent Moammar Gadhafi from having a UN backed no-fly zone. The operation was called International Military Operation. Obama said that these attacks were to protect the Libyan people.

I beg to differ with Obama's statment. I think that the bombings will end up backfiring on our country and a war will break out. I think that the U.S. should have stayed out of the Libyan's buisness and let their country fend for themselves. We have our own problems in our world that we need to worry about. Obama may have made a huge mistake, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens..

strict rules in Japan lead to the delay of US rescue teams helping
Rescue teams from the United States were sent to Japan to help with the search for anyone, but were delayed by the Japanese law of dogs being brought into their country. I believe that in such cases like this natural disaster country's should allow law bends to help benefit their country. It's not like were bringing in deadly infected dogs into their country. The dogs are part of the rescue search team, and without the dogs it will take the rescue team longer and harder to find the victims. Therefore, the victims will have less time trying to survive, but with the dogs more victims could be rescued in a shorter amount of time. "There are many rules here. So it's taking a long time," a member of the Swiss team told ABC News.com. The United States is trying to help as much as they can, but with the Japanese many rules it is taking a longer time to rescue these victims.
